Rupert Whitaker

Rupert was interviewed as part of the Our History project, which archived, recorded and preserved our LGBT heritage in 2019/20. Rupert was a founder member of the Terence Higgins Trust and partner of Terence Higgins; Chairman, Tuke Institute; HIV+ patient activist. In this oral history clip Rupert discusses his partner Terence Higgins' illness, one of the earliest recorded HIV-related deaths in the UK.

Marilyn Major on The Outdance

Marilyn was interviewed as part of the Our History project, which archived, recorded and preserved our LGBT heritage in 2019/20. Marilyn, a member of GLGC lesbian group in the mid-1980s, grew up in Abbey Wood. She also worked as a nurse in HIV prevention with Greenwich and Bexley Health Promotion in the 1990s. Marilyn was a METRO Board member 1998–1999. In this oral history clip Marilyn talks about The Outdance at the Albany Empire.
