Get it

About this service
Get it is a scheme providing free condoms, testing and sexual health advice and support in Kent and Medway.
Young people can order condoms and at-home testing kits from the Get it website.
We run sexual health events in schools, colleges, universities and local community venues, where we give advice about sexual health and provide on-the-spot tests for chlamydia, gonorrhoea and HIV.
We also deliver workshops for schools, colleges, universities and youth groups about consent, sex and the law, sex and substance misuse, sexting, sexually transmitted infections and contraception.
We work individually with young people in Medway to give in-depth advice across four sessions. Our boys and young men project can provide further mentoring and support.

Young people aren't always able to get condoms when they need them. Some people can't afford them, some people can't talk about sex with their families and not everyone feels comfortable talking to their GP approaching a stranger in a shop.
That's why we created the Get it scheme, so young people can order condoms and lube online. We work with pharmacies, schools and other places in the community to make sure young people can get free condoms when they need them.
With rates of syphilis and gonorrhoea rising, it's vital that we reach young people who might not be able to get condoms or have the sex they want.
How we make a difference
We make sure young people understand their rights about safe and consensual sex. We talk about sexual health issues in a sex-positive, honest and confidential way, which helps young people make informed choices about their sex lives.
About 10% of people aged between 13 and 25 in Kent and Medway are registered with Get it, which is over 20,000 young people in Kent and 4000 young people in Medway.
Get it was the first online condom distribution scheme in Kent and Medway. We work with local pharmacies, schools and youth organisations to provide confidential, inclusive advice for all genders and sexualities. If you live outside Kent and Medway, you can try the national sexual health helpline on 0300 123 7123.
