About this service

METRO Greenwich Action for Voluntary Service (METRO GAVS), as the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) for the Royal Borough of Greenwich, provides a range of training and events through two of its workstreams: 

  • Capacity building and infrastructure support service
  • Greenwich Hub for Influence, Voice, and Engagement (G-HIVE)

The training is provided either for free or at low-cost, and designed in an interactive way for all learning styles. The training is delivered by either the METRO GAVS Team or external experts, and covers a range of areas including: 

  • Governance and compliance
  • Consultation and engagement 
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) 

Additionally, G-HIVE hosts bi-annual networking events throughout the year, as well as an annual Voice and Influence Conference. 

Who can use this service?

Any group or organisation within the Statutory Sector or Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector (VCFS) which is currently delivering project/s, programme/s, service/s, and/or activities within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Please note that some training opportunities may only be open to groups and organisations that are members of METRO GAVS.
