About METRO Training
Each training session is designed to engage attendees and develop organisational approaches that encourage inclusivity and celebrate diversity. The training content, discussions and activities help equip participants with the knowledge, resources and tools they need. Our sessions are carefully curated to support a practical and achievable approach to enhancing inclusion.
METRO training encourages an intersectional approach to inclusion that acknowledges the ways in which our interrelating, diverse identities effect our experiences in the world. The training offers a supportive space where participants are able to expand and update their individual knowledge, facilitated by experienced and well-informed trainers.
METRO's training offer
In January 2024, METRO launched an exciting training package that is a more comprehensive approach to learning about inclusion in terms of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI). It is comprised of several new, interlinked sessions, developed from METRO’s extensive expertise in:
- supporting LGBTQ+ people,
- delivering youth work,
- mental health provision,
- advocacy for disabled people,
- responding to hate crime
- championing people living with HIV, and
- a comprehensive knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing.
In drawing on expertise from across our organisation, we are able to support the development of safer and more inclusive spaces.
