We currently meet the needs of a vast range of public, private and third sector organisations. We also offer training as a learning and development opportunity for practitioners using our wide-ranging experience. We currently offer training for: community and voluntary groups, corporate businesses, educational organisations, housing providers, local authorities, NHS trusts, youth services, and more.

We can run sessions either in-person or online. Our team are happy to travel to deliver training.

Our training can also be tailored to meet the specific needs of your organisation. Get in touch to find out how we can support you and your training and development goals.

What participants say about METRO training

Training feedback is overwhelmingly positive:

  • 99.6% of participants said they felt more confident about LGBTQ+ awareness and inclusion after attending our training (March 2023 – March 2024)
  • 95% reported feeling satisfied or extremely satisfied with our training courses (March 2023 – March 2024)

We need more training like this – given by people who really understand the issues from personal experience as well as education.

About METRO Charity Training

Each training session is designed to engage attendees and develop organisational approaches that encourage inclusivity and celebrate diversity. The training content, discussions and activities help equip participants with the knowledge, resources and tools they need. Our sessions are carefully curated to support a practical and achievable approach to enhancing inclusion.

METRO training encourages an intersectional approach to inclusion that acknowledges the ways in which our interrelating, diverse identities effect our experiences in the world. The training offers a supportive space where participants are able to expand and update their individual knowledge, facilitated by experienced and well-informed trainers.

In January 2024, METRO launched an exciting training package that is a more comprehensive approach to learning about inclusion in terms of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI). It is comprised of several new, interlinked sessions, developed from METRO’s extensive expertise in:

In drawing on expertise from across our organisation, we are able to support the development of safer and more inclusive spaces.

The trainer created a welcoming and safe environment where you felt you could ask anything.
