Ian Elmslie

Ian was interviewed as part of the Our History project, which archived, recorded and preserved our LGBT heritage in 2019/20. Ian was a musician and performer in south-east London’s queer arts scene in the 1990s as one half of the award-winning cabaret double-act Katrina and the Boy. In this oral history clip Ian talks about the Outdance gay disco at the Albany Empire theatre.

Marilyn Major on The Outdance

Marilyn was interviewed as part of the Our History project, which archived, recorded and preserved our LGBT heritage in 2019/20. Marilyn, a member of GLGC lesbian group in the mid-1980s, grew up in Abbey Wood. She also worked as a nurse in HIV prevention with Greenwich and Bexley Health Promotion in the 1990s. Marilyn was a METRO Board member 1998–1999. In this oral history clip Marilyn talks about The Outdance at the Albany Empire.
