Our statement on the racist riots

At METRO we know a lot of people are shaken, scared, and uncertain in the wake of the racist riots which have been taking place over recent days.

We wholeheartedly condemn the far-right, anti-migrant and anti-Muslim hate, misinformation, violence and hate crimes which have erupted across the nation.

These acts have been distressing, frightening, and heartbreaking to witness. They also have no place in our country. These actions do not represent the wide majority of people in this country, and we stand with all affected by these horrific acts.

This is a developing situation, and we have been working internally to support our staff, volunteers and service users, to ensure everyone stays safe during this time.

Hate and fear both grow in isolation. We are stronger – and safer – together. Please look out for and check in on your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and communities.
