METRO Charity CEO appointed

We warmly welcome our newly appointed Chief Executive Officer

Following a thorough and open recruitment process we are delighted to announce that our new CEO is Andrew Evans.

Gwen Bryan, Chair of our Board of Trustees, reflecting on the recruitment process, said:

"Andrew demonstrated an excellent understanding of the sectors in which we work, the priorities for taking the charity forward, where our opportunities are, and has the skills and qualities of a fair, open and motivating leader."

Andrew Evans, our new CEO, said:

"I’m delighted to be chosen as the next CEO at METRO Charity, with which comes the responsibility of leading a truly remarkable, skilled and passionate staff and volunteer team.  As someone with a long history with the charity, I’m incredibly passionate about all the work we do across our five domains, proud of our achievements, and our many longstanding partnerships across the sector - many of which I have had the pleasure of bringing together and working closely with. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity, as CEO, to continue to strengthen our position as a vital service delivery focused charity, especially as we now start the development of our next Strategic Plan.”

Andrew started volunteering at METRO in 2001, delivering sexual health outreach in Greenwich LGBTQ+ venues. Since then, he has held a number of positions across the charity - ranging from Gay Men’s Outreach Worker,to Director of Operations, and Deputy CEO.

We are excited to continue working together as he leads the charity forward in his new role.
