LGBT Hate Crime Ambassadors Needed!

METRO Charity are part of the National LGBT Hate Crime Partnership - 31 LGBT organisations working together to encourage and empower victims of LGBT hate crime to recognise it and report. METRO are coordinating this for Southeast London, Kent & Medway and Essex.

We are looking to recruit volunteer hate crime ambassadors and volunteer hate crime coodinators to work in their local area to form a network across those areas.

LGBT Hate Crime Volunteer Co-ordinator

As an LGBT Hate Crime Volunteer Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the administration of our LGBT hate crime service. You will support the organisation in the recruitment, selection and support of LGBT advocate volunteers. You will create links with outreach venues and oversee the coordination of our regular outreach sessions. You will be a point of contact for volunteer ambassadors when they are taking part in the daytime/evening outreach sessions. You will collect, type and store the outreach session reports and appropriately signpost any safeguarding issues.

LGBT Hate Crime Volunteer Ambassador

As an LGBT Hate Crime Ambassador you will provide information to the public about reporting LGBT Hate Crime. You will record any hate crimes reported to you and liaise with METRO regarding these. You will signpost people to relevant services for support.
