The Chair of METRO Charity Board of Trustees, Dan McDonald, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Greg Ussher as its new Chief Executive.
Dr Ussher joined METRO nine years ago from Sydney as Director of Service Development & Growth, and has been holding the reins at the charity as Acting CEO since August last year.
Dr Ussher has significant and varied experience in service development and management, clinical practice, community engagement, public health and equalities, and holds a number of significant public offices including being the Lay Rep (PPI) on Greenwich Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Chair of the National LGBT Consortium, Chair of Outhouse East, Chair of the Kent/Medway LGBT Forum as well as being a Churchill Fellow and an Honorary Fellow at the University of Greenwich.

The Trustees are delighted to have secured Dr Ussher as our new CEO. He is a formidable charity leader and has driven significant growth and development here over the past nine years and demonstrated real commitment to the diverse communities we serve.
This is a very significant and exciting time in METRO's thirty year history as we rise to the many social and economic challenges that confront us as a charity and drive forward with our new strategic plan. Dr Ussher's track record in delivering in both the third and public sectors and his academic rigour will help us meet those challenges and secure our future.

METRO is unique in the range of services that it provides, including the LGBT services we have been delivering for 30 years, and the diversity of the communities and geographies it serves. At thirty years old we are a mature, confident and ambitious charity and I relish the opportunity to work with the Chair, the Board, staff, volunteers, service users, members and supporters to deliver on our strategic plan with innovation, insight and integrity so that together we can really make a difference.
