METRO SHORLISTED FOR TWO SEXUAL HEALTH AWARDS

Metro has been shortlisted for two awards at the UK Sexual Health Awards. Our Pitstop Plus Clinic has been shortlised in the category of Best Adult Sexual Health Service and Director of Health and Community Services Andrew Evans has been shortlisted as Sexual Health Professional of the Year.

The first ever UK Sexual Health Awards is hosted by sexual health charities Brook and FPA and will showcase some of the best, creative and innovative work in sexual health. The Award winner will be presented at the UK Sexual Health Awards ceremony and dinner on Thursday 15 March at Troxy, London. The evening will be hosted by Nitin Ganatra, who currently stars as Masood Ahmed in BBC's EastEnders.

Greg Ussher, Metro Deputy CEO said:

"I am delighted that Metro's sexual health work is being recognised in this way and it is great honour to have our work shortlisted twice in these inaugural awards. We are very proud of the work of our Pitstop+ Clinic. It has been running for 10 years and is the oldest community based clinic for gay and bisexual men in London. It offers a holistic approach to screening, testing and treatment with signposting and referrals and mentoring and counselling to promote and support behaviour change. It is far more than a clinic!

Andrew Evans is a committed, innovative and dynamic health professional who leads on 90% of the sexual health work undertaken by the Metro including the Pitstop Plus Clinic. He is an outstanding leader and motivator and the leading voluntary sector Sexual Health Lead in the London Borough of Greenwich developing a range of innovative sexual health programmes for young people and adults. Andrew's work is imbued with a commitment to the development and implementation of effective outcome measurement tools and he is always solution focused."
