Advice on Arousal/ Feeling up for it

You may have heard people referring to having either a high or low ‘sex drive’ or ‘libido’. This refers to a person having a continuously high or low desire for sex, but in reality, it's more complicated.

Our desires for sex or masturbation can change depending on many life factors, for example what’s happening at work, how well we’ve been getting on with a partner or friends, if we have underlying mental or physical health concerns, our hormones, and much more.

The bottom line is: it’s okay to want sex more or less at different times or to not want sex at all, and the same goes for masturbation. As long as you always communicate and use consent, with both yourself and others.

If you’re worried about changes in how you experience arousal and in how much you want sex/masturbation there is support available.
