Our privacy notice for services provided by our Sexual Health Office.

What service is being provided?

METRO’s Sexual Health Office manages results, referrals, and signposting for the following services:

  • Greenwich Sexual Health Online Services
  • Greenwich NCSP
  • Bexley Sexual Health Online Services
  • Bexley NCSP
  • Wandsworth NCSP
  • Richmond NCSP
  • Richmond Come Correct Scheme
  • Merton NCSP

METRO’s Sexual Health Office processes registration and activity data for the following programmes:

  • Greenwich C Card
  • Bexley C Card
  • Wandsworth C Card

What personal data do we ask from you?

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Postcode
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Contraception status (optional)

What 'special types' of personal data do we need from you?

  • Current or historic sexual health information (optional)
  • Current or historic sexual orientation (optional)
  • Current or historic gender
  • Racial or Ethnic Origin (optional)

Who will be using your personal data?

The Data Controller is the local authority that commissions METRO to deliver the above services, so:

  • The London Borough of Bexley
  • The Royal Borough of Greenwich
  • The London Borough of Merton
  • The London Borough of Wandsworth
  • The London Borough of Richmond

The Data Protection lead for each service can be contacted directly via each individual local authority.

METRO are one of the Data Processors for these services, meaning that we receive all patient results, registration data, and activity, and contact patients directly to offer referrals, treatment, and signposting when needed.

Other Data Processors include:  

PreventX: Provides pathology services for the NCSP programmes in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth or Richmond, as well as processes online orders for the NCSP for Wandsworth, Richmond, and Merton. Visit their website.

Ministry: The website provider which processes orders for online tests for the London Borough of Bexley and the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Visit their website.  

What will it be used for and what gives us the right to ask for it and use it?

We use your information to do the following things that are a part of this service:

  • Service delivery
  • Results management and treatment referrals
  • Establishing local trends and risk areas
  • Service planning/improvement

If we cannot use your data, we would not be able to evaluate our services, provide you with free testing or condoms, or

We are legally allowed to request your information for this service as we are under a legal obligation to provide this service to you.

In order to send you emails about our services and news we use a system called Umbraco. This is hosted and maintained by Ministry. We also use, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, Microsoft Forms, Office 365 for communications via email. Our Laboratory partner (TDL) will send text messages to you regarding your results.

Who else might we share your data with?

In certain circumstances, for example a legal order or other legal obligation, we would be required to share your information with:

  • Local Government
  • Police
  • Children or Adult Safeguarding Board

How long will your data be kept?

Your data will be deleted 7 years after we stop using it.
